The Final Word on Paintball Snipers

Okay, here it is: The Final Word on Paintball Snipers. Now, I have spent countless hours, combing the Internet, gathering opinions, and sorting rare facts from an overwhelming mountain of bullshit.... and here is the Final Answer. Note: this is last I will ever say about this, and if you email me with questions or dissensions about it, the email will be introduced to my trash file. Sorry, I'm just tired of this "I'm Tom Berenger from Sniper" bullshit. Sorry kid, paintballs have zilch in common with a .30-06.

First: There are two ways to be a paintball sniper. But before I tell you, you must realize, that since all paintguns are set to the same velocity, everyone's range will be just about equal (there is one exception, and I'm getting to this) no paintgun "can shoot farther" than another. Sorry, just no way. So what to do? Well, you can do this: assuming you are playing with an amenable group, just have everyone chrono at 260-280, and the designated "snipers" can chrono to 300FPS. The other alternative? Get more accurate which leads us to....

Second: How to improve accuracy. Here is where I will the list the 2 and only 2 paintguns proven to be suited to a "sniper" role. Remember above when I said there was only one exception to the "all paintguns chronoed to 300FPS shoot the same range" rule? Well, this is it:
The Tippmann Flatline

So without further ado, here is the equipment list for a paintball "sniper":

Range package:
Gun: Tippman Model 98 with Flatline Barrel (the only gun this barrel comes on).
Paint: X-Gel paintballs (due out soon). Made of a new type of shell, less seam, less drag.
Power Source: Nitro or CA, on regulator. No chrono spikes, no liquid, no variance. You shot is on velocity each and every time. Dual regulated for the really anal retentive.
Scope: Simple Red Dot. Ziess optics on the field? Why? You're not dropping a target from a 1/2 mile away, get real!
That's it. Nothing more. The rest is just gimmicks. Oh, and your camo is up to you.

Accuracy package:
Gun: AT85r (or AT10 / AT4 /or AT16) with 12-14 inch barrel. PCRI confirmed in test after test, the AT series of guns with a 12-14 inch barrel beat every other gun. Fine', end of story, no more discussion.

That's it. No more discussion. No need to. Do your research, look at the scientific reports. But most important of all: TEST IT YOURSELF!!!!!

Thank you,
